Bush's Journey and the Jerusalem Syndrome

IT'S A "mental disorder" as old as time. Or it dates back to the time of King David when he shed his clothes and danced naked before the Ark of the Covenant on the outskirts of Jerusalem. His wife, Michal, just shook her head in disbelief.
Today, the psychiatrists call it the "Jerusalem Syndrome," and according to Ron Peled in a Ynet News article, he claims up to 150 tourists a year lose their minds; believing they are either the Messiah, the devil and others knowing the exact location of the Ark of the Covenant.
During my time as Middle East bureau chief for a major news-gathering service, based in downtown Jerusalem, I encountered a number of individuals who had all the symptoms. One jarred me on a daily basis as he charged along the sidewalk in front of my office, screaming in an "unknown tongue."
It was his definite duty to inform me that the world was about to end.
Another more convincing figure was a bearded man by the name of Ernest Frank Mauck, who has taken up the handle of Elijah the Tishbite.
This Bible-quoting man had been banished to Cyprus since August 1999 when I assisted in getting him out of the stark confines of the Kfar Shaul mental hospital and onto a plane. However, that banishment didn't stop Elijah from spreading his "messages" via the Internet.
Believing he's one of the two "witnesses" from the Book of Revelation, he claims he speaks for the Almighty Elohim in condemning the Middle East peace agreement. With unswerving purpose, Elijah has savaged the policies of Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and U.S. President George W. Bush, who has been in The Land in the past few days.
Of course, Elijah attemped to re-enter Israel once again via Jordan, but was turned back. It was evident some of his strongly worded e-mails had reached Olmert's office and that of the Knesset, Israel's parliament.
Any connection with appeasing the Palestinians comes in direct conflict with the will of God, he has written time and again.
In addition to his doom-day sayings, Elijah also predicts a "gigantic earth movement from Africa up through the Rift Valley on into Syria ... You're going to see great damage even in Jerusalem area when I (Elohim) cause this Dome of the Rock to be destroyed ..."
On Jan. 15, 1546, Jerusalem suffered a severe earthquake with the Dome on the Church of the Holy Sepulcher completely destroyed. The Dome of the Rock was seriously damaged.
During the original Elijah's time from the Bible, he also experienced an earthquake at Mt. Horeb, although he wasn't in Israel, but in the Sinai wilderness at the time, according to a historical earthquake list.
A Washington correspondent, Bill Koenig, who has been travelling with President Bush throughout the Middle East, has also seen a connection between Israel's giving up The Land to the Palestinians and dramatic destruction.
In Koenig's book, Eye to Eye, he lists some eight and more "Acts of God," which directly affected the U.S.
One of the major occurrences cited was on Oct. 30, 1991 when the father, George Bush, opened the Madrid Conference with "an initiative for a Middle East peace plan involving Israel's land."
On the same day, an extremely rare storm formed off the coast of Nova Scotia. It was eventually tagged "The Perfect Storm," and a movie was made about it. Recording-setting 100-foot waves formed at sea and pounded the New England coast, even causing heavy damage to the elder Bush's home in Kennebunkport, Maine.
Koenig also noted that on May 3, 1999, one of the most powerful tornadoes ever to hit the U.S. swept across Oklahoma and Kansas with winds clocked at 316 mph. On the same day, the late Yasser Arafat had been scheduled to declare a Palestinian state with Jerusalem the capital.
Whether there's any correlation between Koenig's writings and modern-day Elijah's utterances, only time will tell.

The Two Witnesses – The saints of the most High -

Let’s make a comparison between the two witnesses and the saints of the most High -

The Two Witnesses

1. The two witnesses will receive God given power.
2. They will have this power for 3 ½ years (Re.11:3).
3. After they have finished their testimony, after the 3 ½ years of power, the beast will make WAR against them, and he will overcome them, and he will kill them (Re.11:7).

The saints of the most High

1. WAR will be made with the saints of the most High (Dan.7:21, Dan.7:25 below).
2. The mighty and holy people will be destroyed (Dan.8:24 below).
3. Those who do not worship the image of the beast will be killed (Re.13:15 below).
4. It will take 3 ½ years to accomplish to scatter the power of the holy people (Dan.12:7 below).

The war (Re.11:7, Dan.7:21, Dan.7:25) will conclude with the last two of the two witnesses, the two PROPHETS (Re.11:8-12), being slain at the last week prior to the Seventh Trumpet ascension (Re.11:11-12, 1 Thess.4:16-17).

Dan. 7:21 I beheld, and the same (little) horn (king) MADE WAR WITH THE SAINTS, and prevailed against them (Dan.7:25 below);

Dan.7:25 And he (the little horn/king - Dan.7:8, Dan.7:24) shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High (Re.15:3), and think to change times and laws (Re.13:15, Dan.11:31): and they (the saints) shall be given into his hand until A TIME and TIMES and THE DIVIDING OF TIME (3 ½ years/1260 days) .

Dan.8:24 And his (the king's - Dan.8:23, little horn's - Dan.8:9, Dan.7:24) power shall be mighty, but not by his own power (but Satan’s - Re.13:11-12): and he shall destroy wonderfully (Re.13:15), and shall prosper, and practice, and SHALL DESTROY THE MIGHTY AND THE HOLY PEOPLE (Dan.12:7, Col.1:22, Eph.1:4).

Re.12:17 And the DRAGON (Re.12:9, Re.20:2) was wroth with the woman (the church of God, 1 Cor.10:32, Col.1:22, Col.1:24), and WENT TO MAKE WAR WITH THE REMNANT (the rest) OF HER SEED, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Re.13:7 And it was given unto him (the beast of Re. 13:1) TO MAKE WAR WITH THE SAINTS, AND TO OVERCOME THEM: and (Satanic) power was given him (Re.13:2) over ALL kindreds, and tongues, and nations (Dan.7:23, Re.17:15).

Re.13:15 And he (another beast coming up out of the earth, Re.13:11) had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as WOULD NOT WORSHIP the IMAGE of the beast SHOULD BE KILLED .

Re.16:6 For they (those who had the mark of the beast, and those who worshipped his image) have shed the blood of SAINTS and PROPHETS, and thou hast given them blood to drink (Re.16:4); for they are worthy. (of this punishment)

Re.17:6 And I saw the woman (that great city Babylon - Re.17:5) drunken with the blood of the SAINTS (Dan.7:21, Re.13:7, Re.13:15, Re.11:7), and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus (Re.18:24): and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

Dan.12:6 And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the END of these wonders?

Dan.12:7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for A TIME, TIMES, AND AN HALF (3 ½ years or 1260 days); and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people (Dan.8:24, Re.11:3, Re.11:7), all these things shall be FINISHED (Re.10:7).

Hmm.......

I remember that dude ( Elijah ) - I had been staying at the Petra Hostel in Jerusalem and he was a fellow guest. He used to carry a briefcase that said "GOD - Prophet Elijah" on it, and if I recall correctly, he had matching letterhead stationary. I didn't know he was banned from Israel, or that he was in Kfar Shaul.

I was in Kfar Shaul in 2001, and while it's not the Hilton, it certainly is (was) nicer than many American psych facilities. That being said, a lot could have changed between 1999 and 2001.

In searching the web for references to Kfar Shaul, it seems that most of the articles have something to do with Jerusalem Syndrome. My experience was that most of the patients had regular old Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar, Schizophrenia, or some other not too exotic ailment.

Just my 2 cents.
